Hi, regarding your sentence «if anything, people should be moving from SQLite to PostgreSQL», my disagree. I’m one of those users with DrProject on SQLite, for several reasons:

1. It performs very nicely for our (small) team.
2. It is so easy to backup/duplicate the installation.
3. On the same server we have a larger MySQL instance, that already consumes many resources.

I feel too many people just go blindly for those very large SQL servers where most of them should be better served with SQLite.

Yep, that’s what I’m planning to do next. I’ll write a plugin to simplify the process of managing IRC first, and then integrate it into DrProject.

I think you should make a plugin with the !doMagic command, and have that
command called after a project_added signal is sent.

That way, if something goes wrong, the admin can follow the same automated
procedure drproject is using.

And the !doMagic command could be a catch-all that runs each of the subcommands,
so you can allow more fine-grained control if people disable the
auto-magic-on-project-added feature.
